Most genealogies claim that Jean Roy was an orphan. This statement is based on the absence of the names of parents on the ship manifest, at least that is how I understand the claim. This parental link is from a genealogical society and seems quite credible.
However there is a difference in the date of death on this document than there is on the death certificate that is posted here. The year is the same but the month is different. That’s how it is with genealogy… always another puzzle waiting to be solved!
